So what am I doing here?

It’s not the reason I’m here but what I am doing here is working on a book all about Japanese Candy. I’m taking photos and samples like crazy right now as well as searching out what Japanese people consider traditional candies.

I'm so jealous... I would love to travel to Japan and research candy!!!!

I love Pocky too... that has just become available in the UK (where I live), made by Glico but rebranded Mikado.

The book is coming along as well. It's been really fun so far.

They just (in the last few years) started selling Pocky in Canada as well. They're also starting to bring in a few other Asian classics made in North America too. Keep an eye open, I have a feeling Japanese candy is going to get more and more mainstream.
