What is the Ultimate Japanese Treat (Strange Stuff)

Strange, that’s what I’m saying. If you want to know one thing that I’ve said about 100 times while here in Japan is “man that’s strange”. It’s not that it’s really strange per say it’s just that it’s a very different interpretation of what I’m used to. Having said that I’m from Canada and we’re pretty conservative compared to many other cultures.
So my interest in finding the Ultimate Japanese Treat leads me into looking at the stranger treats available here in Japan. Things like Octopus bits in a bag, or even things as simple as cookie mushrooms. In Canada and in the US that’s considered a little strange.

Even the Jellies and cakes here look a little strange, or at least look like they probably have strange flavours and textures. It’s pretty easy to know a Japanese treat from any other because chances are it’s not like any treat you’ve seen before.
So I guess the question is, if Japanese treats are “strange” then would the strangest treat be the Ultimate Japanese Treat?

Strange for strange sake really doesn't count in my book. If it happens to be strange because it's different than what some might consider normal then it's ok.

I agree, but strange can always be a sign of creativity.
