The Battle for Chocolate Supremacy

Here in Japan, as in Europe, chocolate cereal is all the rage. Now since I live in Canada where chocolate cereal is almost non-existent, and since I’m the candy critic. The idea of eating chocolate for breakfast is one of the greatest things imaginable. The problem is which to pick.
I’ve decided to compare two of the more dominant cereals I’ve found here in Tokyo. Both are made by Kellogg’s, and both feature your friend and mine the Choco Monkey.
First let’s look at Choco Krispies.
Basically what you have here is a bowl of chocolate covered rice crisps. The chocolate is on pretty thick and the coco look is pretty obvious.
The thing is once one puts milk on these little guys they not only snap, crackle, and pop, but the chocolate coating also makes a break for the milk. This is ok although it loses marks because the crisps taste so much better with the chocolate on them. It does however make your milk super chocolaty and that’s a nice touch at the end.
Now let’s look at the chocolate “o”.
Much like the crisps it too looks very chocolaty. I figured that these might be chocolate covered Cherrios but I was very wrong about that.
With these the chocolate goes much further than just the outside, the O’s are also chocolate flavoured. The two faults I found with these is that the O’s got really soggy really fast and it appeared that there wasn’t as much chocolate on the outside so my milk became less chocolaty.

All in all I have to say I prefer the chocolate crisps. They seem a little crunchier and a little more chocolaty.

I think people should have chocolate for every meal.

  3. It's true, I just never think about getting chocolate cereals when I'm at home. Maybe the chocolate cereals in North America aren’t as good so I close them out of my mind. I should do a comparison, and then decide if that’s the reason, either way I get more chocolate cereal.
