The folks at Hershey sent me an e-mail.

Check it out for yourself:

“Hi Chris,
Think your readers would be interested in spending two fabulous weeks dripping in decadent chocolate and breathtaking diamonds – without spending a cent?
Inspired by the best-selling book, “The Necklace”, Hershey’s Bliss is inviting women nationwide to “Share the Bliss” of a 16.5-carat diamond necklace in celebration of the debut of new Hershey’s Bliss Chocolate Bars. All your readers have to do to enter is write a short essay on what “bliss” means to them and where they would wear the diamond necklace if they won. I’ve included more details on the book and contest below:
In the New York Times best-selling book, “The Necklace: Thirteen Women and the Experiment That Transformed Their Lives” by Cheryl Jarvis, 13 very different women embark on one surprising journey of living life and learning about themselves – and each other – as they join forces to purchase and share a gorgeous diamond necklace that lends sparkle to each of their lives in surprising and unexpected ways.
Hershey’s Bliss chocolate has taken a page from this true story to offer another group of women the chance to experience the pure bliss of connecting and sharing just like the women of “The Necklace.” The “Share the Bliss” contest will connect women nationwide with the once-in-a-lifetime chance to share a stunning 16.5-carat diamond necklace. Five winners will be selected based on their essays and will be “blissed” with the diamond necklace for two weeks as well as a delicious supply of Hershey’s Bliss chocolate and a signed copy of “The Necklace.” Each winner will be asked to share their experience with the necklace through a blog on the Hershey’s Bliss chocolate Web site and to help select the next winner, building a blissful connection between women nationwide. All five winners will be invited to meet for the first time at the Young Survival Coalition’s spring 2010 breast cancer charity event in New York City where the necklace will be “blissed” for the last time and donated to the organization’s annual fundraiser. The national contest kicked-off August 25 at http://www.hersheysbliss.com/.”
