The Great Hot Cinnamon Conspiracy

Actually I don’t know for sure if it’s a conspiracy but it’s more of a mystery. I just figured that if I use the word “Conspiracy” in the title you might be more willing to read this entry. The Cinnamon question I have is a simple one “is real cinnamon as hot as most cinnamon candies?” I’ve never really thought that much about it’s relation to the real spice before but today I’ve decided that I’m going to close the gap.

What I’ve decided to do is take a pinch of cinnamon and see how hot it is. At first it’s kind of strange, it has an almost numbing sensation on the tongue. Now it’s kind of good, it tastes just like it should not stinging yet. Wait, there’s a slight warm sting on the tongue, but not nearly as bad as some hot candies I’ve eaten. My conclusion is cinnamon isn’t really that hot, those candy companies are stretching it a bit. I’ve also come to the conclusion that cinnamon is pretty tasty on it’s own and I think I may try some more.
