Next Thursday is National Licorice Day, and the folks at Red Vines have sent me a whole mess of licorice facts to share with you guys. So I'm going to give you a new fact, every day, till National Licorice Day.
The main ingredient in licorice is Wheat (that's sweetened, flavored and baked)—so basically licorice is unleavened bread. That’s why it's chewy, so when it’s exposed to air it can get stale. (You can microwave Red Vines for 10-15 seconds to make them soft again).
