Well I was, just not for celebrating a chocolate coconut treat.

As of late I’ve had a real craving and love for cookies. I’m sure this is only the beginning too.

The UK has the strangest slogans ever for their candy. Here’s a great example with the ‘Honeycomb Aero’ bar. Apparently squeaking the folks at Aero feel that chocolate eaters don’t want any more “squeak” in their lives. I’ve been known to eat a few chocolate bars now and then and I’ve never had a problem with it, however now that I’m thinking about it I’m sure I’ll be listening.

Well I’ve got a whole bunch of Candy Canes that I swore I wouldn’t keep for the whole year. Nothing grosses me out more than thinking that I’m eating candy canes that are older than I am. I thought maybe guests might take them when they’d visit but as it turns out many people I know don’t really like Candy Canes.
So what should I do with them, eat them, throw them out, give them away? If you have any ideas let me know. There’s this old joke that goes like this:
How many surrealists does it take to screw in a light bulb?
Purple Banana.
On that note here’s Salvador Dali in a chocolate bar commercial.

Stop by and check out some cool candy photos or just talk candy. I may even have a few samples with me, but it’s first come first serve.
You can find me in booth 56 South, or just follow the smell of sweet, sweet candy.Normally this site is all about candy… well I guess that makes sense seeing as the site and BLOG are called “Candy Critic”. The difference is today I’m going to talk a little about how special effects are way over used in commercials and movies today. I came across this cute little Rolo ad and it made me remember what time where like before big budget special effects where available. This commercial is all about great editing and a fun little story line. I am finished.

It’s called Black Ace Liquorice and they claim it’s the best in the world. I haven’t tasted it yet but I can say that it has one of the coolest graphics ever on the package. Race cares are so awesome!

I was talking to my dad about gum ads and he was telling me that back in the day gum ads used to suggest that chewing their gum was as good as brushing you teeth. Makes me kind of glad we have standards in advertising now a day. This little ad above also might get caught up in the great web of advertising standards but for very different reasons.

It’s been years since I’ve heard this and for no apparent reason it just popped in my head today. Allison was not amused at all, but a question came up. Do kids still sing this little ditty to each other?
Oh and for the record, this is in fact not the way to make bubble gum.
