5 Awesome Candy Themed Funko Pops - Honorable Mentions

Here's a bonus candy themed Funko Pop to add to our collection.

While all this week we've been looking at Funko Pops based on candies or candy mascots, this particular pop is certainly candy themed, but doesn't represent any particular candy. Instead it's a character from one of the best movies to feature candy, Wreck It Ralph. It's strange, you don't think about candy when you think of Wreck It Ralph, yet it plays a pretty important part of the movie.

5 Awesome Candy Themed Funko Pops - Part 5 - Marshmallow Peeps

Make sure to look back, because all this week we've been looking at awesome candy themed Funko Pops.

Of all the Funko Pops that we've looked at this week, this is probably my least favourite. First of all I'm not a big marshmallow guy, so Peeps are generally out of my wheelhouse in the first place. Secondly I find it a little strange that Funko decided to go with the Peeps bunnies instead of the classic chicks. While I don't hate this toy, I'm not really sure if it's something I'd put on my shelf.

5 Awesome Candy Themed Funko Pops - Part 4 - Twinkie The Kid

We still have a few more characters to look at in our series about candy themed Funko Pops.

Do people know who Twinkie the Kid is? Even when I was a kid Twinkie the Kid wasn't a huge deal for us. That could have been because I lived in Canada, or it could be my age. Later in life I found out more about this awesome cowboy and I gained a hearty respect for him. He was an amazing mascot for one of the most popular baked treats in the world. I wonder if they'll ever bring him back?

5 Awesome Candy Themed Funko Pops - Part 3 - Bazooka Joe

We're halfway through our look at awesome candy themed Funko Pops.

Bazooka Joe is probably the least well known, yet very iconic candy themed character that Funko has ever turned into a Pop. It used to be that Bazooka Joe was one of the most published cartoon character in the world. Every kid knew about him and some even laughed at the cheesy jokes from his comic. I had a time in my life when I was obsessed with Bazooka Joe comics. Today I'm not even sure if Bazooka gum comes with comics anymore.

5 Awesome Candy Themed Funko Pops - Part 2 - Sour Patch Kids

Make sure to check back every day this week as we look at some awesome candy themed Funko Pops.

Sour Patch Kids are a pretty logical design for Funko Pops. They're pretty iconic and they have some character as well. Generally in commercials Sour Patch Kids are shown to be mischievous and playful. This could work well with the Funko Pops because you could use them as a sort of Elf On The Shelf like toy. You could pose your Sour Patch Kids Funko Pops all around your house up to all kinds of shenanigans.

5 Awesome Candy Themed Funko Pops - Part 1 - Otter Pops

Every day this week we're featuring a candy themed Funko Pop. For those not familiar with the Funko Pop trend there are plenty of websites and Youtube movies dedicated to the subject. All I can tell you is that they're very suited towards candy themed and candy licensed toys.
To start us off I thought I would look at one of their new lines, Otter Pops. Otter Pops are a very popular American frozen treat that's been copied in many other countries all over the world (In Canada we call them Freezees). They have different names in other places, but they're pretty much the same thing, a frozen tube of fruity sugar water.  Unfortunately the otters themselves probably won't appeal to anybody who doesn't know about the specific American cool treat. So these will likely be a US exclusive.

This Treat Is So Nice That They Named It Twice - Yan Yan "Double Cream - Chocolate Flavoured Cream and Banana Cream"

Probably the biggest problem I have with reviewing candy is the packages. I try so hard to not let the package of any candy interfere with my review, but it's hard. There are just some trigger words on packages that make me nervous, like "licorice", "banana", and "flavoured". These, and a few other words turn me off of a snack before I've even eaten it. Sometimes I'll just randomly pick up packages because of the name or shape and I'll skip the fine details. Sometimes I'll pick up a treat that is full of trigger words. This is me attempting to get over these candy features I don't like. Most of the time I'm reminded about why I don't like these words on packages, but occasionally (like this time) I'm pleasantly surprised.

We Eat Taco Bell In Thailand, And It's Not Bad... Then It's A Little Bad

Just before our recent trip to Thailand I heard that their first Taco Bell was opening up in that country. I didn't remember much from the article I read on the subject, only that they had to "adjust" the recipe for Thai tastes. I wasn't really sure what that meant, but I wanted to find out. It turns out the new Taco Bell was only a few minutes walk from the place I was staying, so a lunch there was totally in order.

Today I Review A Surprisingly Good Marshmallow - Marshmallow Cones

I've said it before, but I don't like marshmallows that much. I also don't like licorice and fake banana flavour either. People are often shocked that there are some candy flavours that I don't like. While I don't like them, I do recognize that others do, so I try and make my personal preferences clear when I write a review. I mention that I'm not a fan, and even suggest that your tastes might be different than my tastes. When people ask, I often suggest that you don't take my reviews as the answer to weather a candy is good or not, but use it as a barometer and judge my taste versus yours and see how a particular candy might fit into your own arena.

It's A Review-A-Thon And A New Episode Of Our Monthly Morning Breakfast Thoughts

I've really been in the mood for some candy in bar form. Fortunately for me candy in bar form is very common. Some people call them candy bars, other call them chocolate bars, to make things simple here at Candy Critic we just call them bars.  All this week we'll be posting a whole bunch of bar reviews, at least one a day.

Click here to check out the first entry in our bar review-a-thon.

Also make sure to check out our latest installment of Chris's Monthly Morning Breakfast Thoughts where Chris talks about all of the news from last month and what's coming up on Candy Critic for March.
