Love At First Breath

I always love how in candy commercials, fresh breath can lead to love.

Spice Gum Flavours

It's funny that there aren't many gums out there with spice flavours, with one very huge exception. Cinnamon seems like it's cornered the market on spice flavours when it comes to gum. That is unless you count mint as a spice (I say herb but I won't go to the grave on that). It's just weird how certain spice flavours are so common in gum, while there are so many others that almost never appear as a gum flavour. I'm not saying that all spices would work, I just wish there were more options out there.

Check out my latest review of a unique spiced gum.

Not Sure About This Gum Commercial

I'm pretty sure this gum commercial wouldn't fly today, but you can decide for yourself.

I've Been There

I love this series of Japanese gum commercials because they show off different parts of Japan, a few of which I've visited and really enjoyed. Ironically I don't think I've ever tried the gum.

Retro Fruit Stripes Gum

It's interesting, the reason animals have stripes is to confuse predators, this commercial is full of stripes and also a little confusing.

Making Bubble Gum

Apparently the song we used to sing in grade school about how bubble gum was made is completely false.

What to do if You Chew a Lot of Gum

I feel like this is the kind of thing I would think of doing when I was a kid, but I'd give up at around the 5th or 6th wrapper.

If you like candy art, check out my book called Treats and Beasts.

It's Time To Eat Gum, And Regret It Almost Instantly

In this episode of Chris, Why Would You Eat That?!!, I eat a piece of Dubble Bubble that's more than 20 years old. I don't really know why I have such an old piece of gum, but I should mention that I have more, if you're interested in having a piece for yourself.

If you're interested in a piece of really old gum, make a case for yourself on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook.

If you follow me on Patreon your chances will drastically improve.

Is Xylitol Perfect?

I'm often very pessimistic about sugar substitutes. I find that they often fit into one of two categories, they either have some kind of awful aftertaste, or they turn out to be really bad for you. Xylitol is one of the newer sweet substitutes out there and so far it seems like in certain uses it really works, taste wise. The thing I hope never happens is that we find out that it's actually not very good for you.

Check out this interesting Xylitol based gum that I reviewed.

Make sure to check out Twitter, Facebook and Instagram as I just got back from an adventure and found some interesting treats.

You can also check out my new book called Treats and Beasts, pick up a copy for yourself or someone you know who love sweet treats.

Candy Crossover Success

I feel like the candy crossover is something that's often tried, but doesn't always succeed. In order for a candy crossover to work it has to do one (or both) of two things. It either has to be well thought out and blend together so well that you don't really know where each treat ends or begins. The other option is to be so weird that you end up with a novelty candy that people may not actually enjoy eating, but they're curious enough to give it a try. This Jelly Belly gum falls squarely into the first, in fact I'm kind of surprised that no one has made Jelly Belly gum before.

Don't forget to check out my Facebook, Instagram and Twitter feeds as I have a few extra reviews going up in the next few weeks.
