Well this week’s update is a little sad. See this is the last day that we’re hosting the Candy of the Month Club. Yup it’s over, no more candy going out to people all over the world (or at least North America). It just got too expensive and not possible. Maybe we’ll bring it back but for now it’s gone. Fortunately this weeks review pepped me up a bit, well it actually pepped me up way too much.CC

I mentioned this place before in a past visit to Montreal but didn’t go last time. This time when it was suggested that we go I didn’t want to miss the opportunity.
Allison got an amazing cheesecake with caramel.
I got a chocolate filled chocolate cake covered in sel de mer caramel. I also got some chocolate ice cream with it.
Our friend Miho got a brownie that might have been the richest chocolaty brownie I’ve ever eaten in my life. Sometimes when I go to these all desert places the selection sounds interesting but the quality is only ok, but this place isn’t that way at all. The selection is great and the treats are wonderful. I highly recommend that anyone in or going to the Montreal area gives this place a try.
The Lowney condos! For those that don’t know Lowney is a chocolate company here in Canada, well at least it used to be. And these condos are built in the old Lowney factory. I wonder if I bought one if they’d just leave the machines all set up?

This bakery is known for some awesome deserts. I recommend most highly the Muskoka Cloud, a great pastry filled with fresh cranberries. Get there soon because they make one batch a day and when they’re gone that’s it.

Not a bad looking treat in the bunch. They had a whole bunch of free samples, and I chowed down. I thought to myself, why in the world would they just give it away. I filled up with all kinds of free treats.
Then I tried the pumpkin spice bread and I just had to have a whole loaf for myself. Stupid samples worked too well.
The basement of the Mariposa Market had a shop full of sweet fun treats.
Even these super hot “Kick Ass” jellybeans.

My friends claimed that they’re the best ever made, I guess only a review will tell for sure.
Gummies are great; they can be made into just about any size shape or colour. It opens the door to make all kinds of crazy fun things.
These folks decided that maybe fun wasn’t the best idea. Maybe they should make shapes that pretty much bore the socks right off most people that try them. Actually sock shaped gummies would have been more fun.
Here’s the list of “fun” shapes they went with. Ham Sandwich, Pizza Slice, Apple, Bottle of Water, and Cheese. Now don’t get me wrong, the first three aren’t that dull, but a Bottle of Water and Cheese?!
Worst of all they basically all taste the same. It wasn’t like any fruit I’ve ever seen it was more like a light perfume.

At first I was a little stymied on how to open this bar. Then I realised that the arrows where the main clue.
I yanked where I thought I should yank.
And in no time chocolate fun was to be mine.

This is either a total disaster or a new treat sensation.

I’ve decided to change my perspective on life and try silly things that although many call them impossible I’m sure they’ve never tried to be sure.
Well I’m going to try this to be sure. I’ve decided to plant a red Jelly Bean because they’re my favourite and just in case it’s a bumper crop I wouldn’t want a vine full of black ones.
Good luck little bean. My next mission, to find a Unicorn.
