Many of the web sites that I’ve link on this blog are concerned about producing candy with a conscience and I figured I’d give them a little credit and a free link for doing that.

In some cases these companies donate to other causes and in some cases their whole business is creating candy with conscience. I think all of these ideas are great, and more companies should be on board. The only thing that has to remain is that the treats still have to be fun and tasty.

Both were equally stale, a new a common problem happening at Tim Hortons lately. The toffee donut had a little more of a burnt taste while the honey one was more sugary. The cake in the toffee donut was also a little denser while the honey one lighter.

By the time you watch this video I will either be in my Food Science exam, or finished it. I’m not sure if this class has improved my love of candy or freaked me out even more.

I’ve seen so many chocolate that look so good. I don’t always mean good in the “I want to eat it” way either. Sometimes a chocolate looks like a piece of artwork and I almost don’t want to eat it. Sometimes I do and it’s great, sometimes it’s not, but most of the time if someone takes the time to turn a chocolate into a piece of art then it’s probably pretty tasty too.
Danielle suggests Marie Bell Chocolates in New York and they do look pretty amazing.

I recently tried Kohler Chocolates (check the review here) and they looked really cool too. But I want to know if you know of any other beautiful chocolates. Something so great that you don’t even want to take it out of the box. Let me know what you find and I’ll post any other finds in the future. After all the drink box would not exist without the bendy straw. The fact that you need a straw that is longer than the box, but also fist neatly at the side of the box as well is an amazing math problem. Not to mention the role these straws play for the sick and elderly that can’t sit up very well to get drinks.
The bendy straw is a miracle of both science and the inventor should get a noble prize.
