Candy In The Media

When you have a water jet to cut jawbreakers, you can make some pretty cool art.

Very neat idea! Water jets are incredible for cutting unusual materials that sculptors may want to work with. I've always loved the variety of colors on jawbreakers. Each piece of candy is really a work of art within itself. Another neat project with jawbreakers could involve crushing the candy up with a hammer and making something entirely new from the pieces!

I love making art with a food theme, you can see some of my stuff here http://www.bewarethecheese.com/senses/. Candy can be difficult however due to the fact that it's made of sugar. It doesn't mix well with glues or paint, and some sugar treats also don't age well. Having said that it still is fun to work with.
