Kawagoe and old time candy.

One of the places that has been suggested for the Candy Critic to make a stop is the small city of Kawagoe. It’s known for these old houses, pottery and traditional Japanese candy.
There where all kinds of candy shops all over. From modern treats to very traditional treats, I got lots of new things to review and shoot for the book. One thing I noticed was that there where a many sweet potato treats in this area. One of the great things I’ve found about Japan is each area has a specialty and each is unique and tastes so unique. This particular sweet potato puff was spectacular.

Sweet Potato candy, that sounds crazy. Was there more than one type of sweet potato candy or just the one you bought?
