Belgian Candy Windows - Modern Art

The widows of the chocolate shops in Belgium are spectacular, almost as spectacular as the chocolates themselves.  The level of competition between the chocolate shops in this country is staggering, so you would imagine they put a lot of effort towards their windows to attract customers.  For the next two weeks I'm going to show you some of the great themes and ideas I came across while searching out my chocolate paradise.
The new modern trend in Chocolate really seems to be a modernist simple design.  These chocolates often come in just different darkness of chocolate or sometimes they come with really strange spicy flavours.  The traditional flavours are often not the focus.  I assume it's an attempt to focus on the chocolate connoisseur as opposed to the general public.  I find the windows of these stores to be a lot colder than other shops, but they're still really interesting.  I'm not sure if this trend is going to get any bigger, but I can't imagine it taking over the whole chocolate market.  My only concern with these shops is the fear that they might start thinking too much about the look of the chocolates and lower the quality standards.
