There are several really large chocolate companies that got their start in Belgium, Godiva, Neuhaus, and Cote D'Or just to name a few. Although some argue (not me entirely) that the quality of these treats isn't what it used to be, you can't deny that they've been a vital part of creating a certain standard above and beyond your simple box of chocolates or chocolate bar. This is truly one of those countries that mastered a culinary skill and is not afraid to show it off a little.
