This Is What They Make Fake Chocolate From

You may be wondering what this strange bean like thing I'm holding onto is, and what it has to do with candy.  Well this is a carob bean, and carob is what they most often use to make fake chocolate.  I picked up this bean at a market here in Cairns, and the lady who sold it to me assured me that it was a lovely snack on its own.  I do plan on giving it a try, and I think I'll write a detailed blog entry about my experience when I get home.
