8 Days Of UK Treats - Day 3

Today's review is the first review that is exclusively Scottish.  Many of the treats in the UK seem to be spread all over the British Isles, and when you look for local candy it can be difficult, particularly for a foreigner.  I often have to trust that when a package labels something as "Scottish" that it is just that.  But inevitably I often find myself in another area of the UK and there's the same treat but this time it's labeled Yorkshire.

Are You A Chocolate Snob?

I know that I am, and according to many facts and figures more and more people are becoming chocolate snobs.  Sales of high quality chocolates and chocolate treats are going through the roof all over the world.  Many say it's because of the global economic crisis (people can't spend on large things so items like candy do well), while I simply believe people are finally waking up to the greatness that is candy.

Candy Calms Flight Delay

Once again it's candy to the rescue. A delayed flight in Scotland almost got out of hand as the passengers started to protest. Apparently the cops showed up with drinks and candy to save the day.

Happy Robbie Burns Day!

This weekend I was lucky enough to enjoy a fun Robbie Burns celebration filled with all the Scottish trimmings one could want. The haggis was… well it was haggis that’s all I can say.

The desert on the other hand was this wonderful cookie and ice cream delight. Covered in caramel and chocolate this treat was spectacular. The cookie was so hard we spent more time breaking them apart with our spoons than eating but that was all of the fun. After all nothing make s a fancy dinner fun than jabbing your desert with a spoon like a wild animal.
