Food Is Wasted

I love food, I love everything about food, I hate the idea that some food is not being eaten. I don't like to use the old expression, but there are in fact starving people in other countries. Boing Boing posted a great piece about the amount of food that is wasted and frankly I think it's startling.

What About The Sniff Test

Here's an interesting statistic, 76% of Americans throw away food that is still OK just because of the expiry date. Here's another interesting fact, candy can often have an expiry date. I find that the higher the quality the more likely to have an expiry date and the smaller that date will be. The thing is more people don't even know about this expiry date and I'm pretty sure that's because more people don't buy candy and let it sit for more than a couple of days.
