I'm a Junk Food Hypocrite
at
12:06 PM
I say that I'm a junk food hypocrite because I both support a healthy diet, and I love eating food that is extremely unhealthy. In this case I'm not really talking about candy, I'm talking about regular meal food that is extremely unhealthy. Whenever I get a chance to eat something that is breaded, deep fried and covered with some kind of cheese and sauce I always except. Yet on this very site I oppose many unhealthy meal type foods. I think I make my peace with the idea that many of the foods I love to try don't ever claim to be healthy. No one is going to go to the Cheesecake Factory and expect their desert to be diet, and I don't think the restaurant makes any such claims.

Dealing With Sweet Cravings
at
4:20 PM
I can't say that I disagree with the advice given in the article below about how one should deal with sweet cravings after dinner. However I would like to ad one more suggestion, make sure when you do eat sweets that it's satisfying. Eating sweets in moderation if the sweets you eat are high quality and satisfying to your palette will help deal with cravings.

Stop Cravings By Thinking About Food
at
11:07 AM
In what I can only describe as one of the most bizarre ways to stop cravings, Friends Eat suggests a technique that involves regularly visualizing the food you want to eat, but shouldn't. They also suggest doing these visualizations while eating other food that doesn't taste as good as the food you want to eat. I can see how this might work, but I'm not %100 convinced. As of late I've been getting many tips and trick on how to stop cravings, so I think a Candy Critic experiment is in order. Check back later.

Twinkie Diet Works
at
3:38 PM
A man in the US has successfully lost 27pounds on something known as the Twinkie diet. The Twinkie diet consists of eating nothing but sugary foods, like Twinkies, every three hours instead of meals. The importance of this one man is that he is Dr Haub, and he's a studies nutrition. Now as much as I'd like to endorse this diet for everyone, in particular myself, I do realize that it's unrealistic to keep it up and keep the weight off.

Caffeine In Soda
at
3:18 PM
I came across an interesting post that "claims" to list the caffeine content of many soft drinks. The post argues that Diet Coke should not be so high in caffeine, however I disagree. I'm not sure if caffeine leads to any kind of weight gain and frankly that's what "diet" sodas are all about. It's not that they're healthy, it's just that they contain little to no sugar. What shocked me is the amount of caffeine in Barq's Root Beer, since I thought it was caffeine free.

Caffeine Problem
at
6:13 PM
I have to be honest with you, I have a caffeine problem. I love the stuff when I'm tired, but right after too much consumption (which is almost always), I feel jittery and sick. I just can't stop myself from eating (or drinking) the stuff either. I feel tired and I head for some caffeine. I'm going to try to be better about it, and stop seeking it out.
