Put It On a Stick And Review It

I'm not sure if this is a trend that I've just discovered, or if it's a new up and coming trend, but lollipops seem to really be making a comeback.  Best of all, it appears that handcrafted lollipops are really making a comeback, and the big boys in the candy industry should be keeping an eye open.  I'm hoping that this trend starts to grow, and we see more and more candy companies coming up with really creative and smart lollipop flavour combinations.  I've been lucky enough to sample quite a few lately, and I'm eager to sample even more.  If you make handcrafted lollipops, and you think you have some creative flavours, let me know (like the folks at www.thischarmingcandy.com did) because I'd love to help promote your candy cause.

Got Some Peeps Left Over?

I've seen many a creative use for Peeps in my days, some are even edible.  This particular project, featured on Serious Eats, is not one of them.  Who glues Peeps to flowers?  The day after results are particularly sad.

DIY Ring Pop Project

I've never thought about all of the candy stuff that I might throw out every year.  Treats come with all kinds of strange bits of plastic and decorations that can be used for so much more.  For example, the blogger in the link bellow decided to turn her Ring Pop rings into great looking (uneatable) jewelry.  It's a great idea and something we should all think about when we eat a sweet.

Candy Wonderland

The conservatory (the place where you check out flowers) in Fort Wayne Indiana has just opened up their "Candyland" themed show for the holidays.  You may not know this about me but I'm actually a big fan of conservatories.  Whenever I travel I often stop at conservatories and take lots of pictures.  I love the conservatories that have butterflies and other critters roaming around the most.  So decorating a conservatory in the theme of "Candyland" sounds like the perfect mix for the flower lover and candy fanatic in me.

Magnolia Bark Is OK.

We can all breath a sigh of relief to know that Magnolia bark has been approved as a food. It sounds a little strange to think about where many of the chewy substances we eat come from. I frankly like to just imagine scenes from Charlie and the Chocolate factory when I eat my candy.
