AHHHHHH!!! It appears my computer has been infested with some kind of horrible advertising type virus. Everywhere I turn a popup advertisement tells me how much weight I need to lose. How do they know that I have a candy blog? Well I had big plans for writing blogs today, but now I have to... go outside and enjoy this warm day. That just means I'll be writing tomorrow instead.
This week I hope to get the last article about our epic UK trip up, all about a town called York, and how it completely changed the chocolate bar world. I have another beef with Cadbury that I want to deal with as well. Other than that I'm working on the final details for a really big candy giveaway that will either start this week or next. I'm also expecting a few packages in the mail soon, and that means some very fun reviews in our near future.
Finally I'm looking for ideas and contributors, if you have a fun idea that you'd like to contribute to the Candy Critic blog let me know.

Classic/Creative Candy Advertising - Just Bite It Already!
at
4:00 PM
Do you know what bothers me about candy advertising, the fake bite. I hate it when you know for a fact that the person eating the treat in the advertisement didn't bite down at all. You know the minute they took the picture this kid pulled the bar out of his mouth without much more than a few teeth marks in it.

Ice Cream Fake
at
10:32 AM
I was walking up the street the other day, and out of the corner of my eye I saw two signs in the window shaped like ice cream cones. I thought that maybe a new ice cream place had opened up in my neighborhood and I was overjoyed. Once I got up close to the place, I quickly realized that it wasn't a ice cream parlor. Instead it was just a shoe store that for no apparent reason decided that deceiving people into thinking they sold ice cream is a good way to drum up sales.

I Still Hate "Food Trends"
at
10:02 AM
I may still hate food trends, particularly in the candy industry, but I will still pass them along to you. Recently the "Food Show Panel" at the 57th annual Summer Fancy Food Show listed some of their suggested trends coming down the line. I'm most stupefied by the idea that "Japanese-inspired foods were among the top trends", like this trend is something new. I will continue to be enraged at the the idea that other people are going to tell me what foods are "popular".

I Just Needed A Laugh
at
10:07 AM
I typed in "funny commercials" and took the first obvious candy commercial. Enjoy!
