The Brazil Nut Effect... Or Why Big Things Always End Up On Top
Serious Eats has posted some important science about the physics behind mixed nuts. More importantly why the Brazil nuts always seem to float to the top. This same science can explain a lot of other candy packaging issues as well, including why large chips are always at the top of the bag.
