Classic/Creative Candy Advertising

Nobody slices ice cream anymore.  Even I was too young to really experience the trend of slicing ice cream.  However, once I learned of people doing this in the past, I started slicing my ice cream all of the time.  Do you have any idea of the topping potential when you're dealing with a flat surface instead of a round scoop.  All of your toppings coat the ice cream beautifully, instead of just rolling off to the side.

Classic/Creative Candy Advertising

Until seeing this cool Eat-More ruler, I'd never given much thought about how strange the name "Eat-More" really is.  Seeing it out of context the name is more like a bad slogan for a buffet than the name of a classic Canadian candy bar.  That's the strange thing about candy and snack promotions that are placed in strange places, it sometimes disconnects from the treat itself and lets you look at the slogan or name of the treat from a new perspective.

Friday Candy Video

We've all seen that internet meme where they chop up a chocolate bar a certain way, remove a square, and are then able to rebuild a chocolate bar of the same size.  Now someone has done a video of this crazy math puzzle, and I still can't figure it out.  I've been tempted to try this trick myself, the problem is every time I open a chocolate bar, I just end up eating part of it.

It's National Potato Chip Day and Pi Day!!!

Today is a two for one holiday... sort of.  The most popular holiday event happening today is something called Pi Day.  I'm sure many would argue that today is not about slicing off a warm piece of apple pie, but instead a holiday celebrating a number with no known ending.  Fact is, pies are round, and pies are tasty, so many people celebrate Pi Day with a pie.  It's only logical.
Today is also National Potato Chip Day, and this day is far less confusing.  Potato chips have become one of the staple snacks all over the world.  It's pretty amazing to think that the potato chip was said to be invented only 160 years ago.

Gum Chewing Makes You Smarter

Have I posted this article before?  In the most ironic post ever on this site, I found an article about a study that says chewing gum helps teens in school, but I'm pretty sure I've written about this in a past post.  Unfortunately I can't remember for sure if I have posted about this, maybe I should start chewing gum while I post links.

Click here to read about the study.

Math and Food Are Awesome

I hate math and love food so when they meet it pretty much balances things out. This video featuring the math of pizza making is cool and perplexing all at the same time. Cool because it makes me hungry and makes me want to eat pizza. Perplexing because I don’t know why anybody would want to think about pizza this much and not just eat it.

Math, Science and Food

I’ve become a fan of people who mix science, math and food all together. I prefer it in non-conventional ways too. This site talks about the math behind cutting pizza however what I’d like is the math behind making sure there are equal amounts of ingredients on each slice.
