Crazy Billboards

Best Design Tuts has posted a series of really creative billboards.  Included is this one billboard for Dairy Milk which looks like it was taken in my hometown of Toronto.
There's also this neat use of the sun, from Sun Chips.

Sun Chips Really Loud Bag... Part 3

The story of the bio-degradable Sun Chips bag continues.  According to the article below Frito-Lay is looking to silence the bag, at least a little, in order to keep their bags green.  As far as I know in Canada they still have the loud bags and in the US they went back to the un-green ones.  So I wonder if they manage to silence the bag, will the US take them back?

Sun Chips Really Loud Bag... Part 2

A while back I posted a few blogs about the new bio-degradable Sun Chips bag.  In brief, Sun Chips came out with a new bio-degradable bag, however the bag was taken off the market because when you squished it the sound was tremendously loud.  After writing about this bag, I mentioned that I was curious as to how well the bag degrades, and I thought I might do a little experiment.  Well due to the fact that I'm a crappy gardener, I live in an apartment with little to no plants, and I'm kind of lazy, I still have yet to perform this experiment.  Fortunately for me someone else has.  Unfortunately for the chip bag it appears that the person doing the experiment had a little trouble breaking down the bio-degradable bag.

Sun Chips Really Loud Bag

A few weeks back I reported that Sun Chips had a problem with their new compostable bag.  It was reported that the chip bag when crinkled was so loud that it actually disturbed people.  It was so bad that they decided to stop using the bag, in the US at least.
Well thanks to my crack Canadian corespondent I managed to get my hands on one of these bags.  So now I can answer two questions I've had about this new package.
The first is how loud could it really be?  The answer.  Incredibly loud, I thought at first it was kind of extreme to discontinue a package just because it was loud.  Then I heard the bag for myself and I'm blown away at how loud it really is.  The audio file above gives you only a sample.
The second question I have is how compostable are these bags.  To answer this I've decided to cut up my bag and toss it in with one of my potted plants.  I'll check in on it once in a while and we can see if it actually breaks down.
