There's something very satisfying about licking the cheese powder off of your fingers.  Although, when I'm in public I try to be as discrete as possible when I do it.  I feel ashamed about doing something that I love.  Apparently I'm not the only one.

Cheese Doodles aren't particularly attractive, and the texture is strange to say the least, but for some reason I can't get enough of them.  I've woken up in the middle of the night desperate to get a bag of bright orange treats with the texture of Styrofoam.

It's National Cheese Doodle Day!!!

I love Cheese Doodles, Cheesies,  Cheetos, or whatever you happen to call them in your neck of the woods.  Up until fairly recently I didn't really know that how these things were made, and what they were made out of.  As it turns out they're made of corn meal mush that is extruded into the fun nuggets we know and love (you can read more about the process here).  It's actually a really simple system, but I'm not sure how anybody managed to come up with this process in the first place.  Was it a factory accident that lead to something great?
