Classic/Creative Candy Advertising

It looks like that Christmas stocking is made of cellophane.  I can't argue that I often dream of candy for Christmas as well.  It's strange, I never thought to ask Santa for candy for Christmas, I always just thought about toys.  Maybe this year I'll ask him for all kinds of sweet treats instead.

Classic/Creative Candy Advertising

When did it become un-cool to dress up as a bunny?  It seems like the perfect costume.  I'm sure it keeps you warm, it's got a great deal mobility, and girls would be more than happy to give you a scratch now and then.  Sure it's not as cool as the current trendy costume, Miley Cyrus and Robin Thick twerking (oh man), but it's timeless and you could use it as pajamas afterwards.

Classic/Creative Candy Advertising - Baby Ruth VS Apples

Baby Ruth as health food, I love it.  I wonder if a Baby Ruth a day will keep my doctor away?

Classic/Creative Candy Advertising - What Does Swimming and Baby Ruth Have in Common?

If you plan on swimming apparently the best thing you can do to "warm up" is scarf down a Baby Ruth. I'll have to remember that next time I'm at the beach.

Classic/Creative Candy Advertising - Full Bars On Halloween

I've been to houses that offer kids full chocolate bars, it's pretty much one of the best childhood memories I have.  I've never been to a house where they simply let you take a full bar from a box of full bars, this is just a fantasy.

Babe Ruth Commercial

This commercial is a little confusing.  It's confusing because when the Baby Ruth first came out, in an attempt to not get sued, they claimed that they got their name from a former presidents daughter rather than the baseball player.  Then, several years later, they make this commercial.  It basically says, we at Baby Ruth don't believe that story we told you when we first came out either.

Better and Neon

Lots of neon lights and things getting better. This Baby Ruth and Butterfinger ad pretty much sums up the 80s.

Ruth Magic

I love the look on this guys face as he does his Baby Ruth magic. He seems more amazed by the trick than we should be.

Baby Ruth For The Boys

I'm guessing that back in the 40s the boys in green really dug Baby Ruths. I'm also guessing that in the 40s the boys in green where slobs because they left all their Baby Ruth wrappers just lying in a big pile.

The Dionne Quints Eating a Baby Ruth

When I first saw this ad from the 1940’s I thought it was some kind of old time Photoshop trickery, but then I read the about the Dionne Quints and it all made sense. If you don’t know who these magical children are you can read about my visit to their birth home over the summer here.

As always these ads come from the Vintage Ad Browser.
