This Week In Candy

I'm getting ready to go on an epic journey, and I'm worried. I always worry before I go on a trip.  Will I pack the right things, will our plans go well, but most importantly will I find some interesting foods?  Every time I step foot into a new place I go into a panic mode.  Even in the airport I check out every store and restaurant to try and get an idea about what the foods of this country or place might be.  The first thing I want to do when I visit a place is head to a grocery store to check out what the locals buy.  I spend at least 20 minutes in the candy aisle of these stores just scoping things out.  I get nervous that I'll miss the important foods, the foods that I can't miss. In the end, I've never missed out on anything.  I eventually learn that the foods you find on your journey are the foods you need to try. They'll be obvious, or they're not really the foods of that country.

A Strange Sock Candy Thing

I enjoy fun socks.  One of my favorite things to do is wear silly socks when I have to dress formally.  It's fun to know that although I'm all serious on the outside, inside (and on my feet) I'm still a weirdo.  I can't decide how I feel about these gumball machine socks.  Are they too much?  Could I get away with meeting the Queen of England while wearing these socks, and if I did meet her, would I tell her about my gumball machine socks?

A Cool Candy Thing - Movie Edition Part 4

When I asked people to suggest movie's about candy, I can't tell you how many people suggested movies that had candy themes in the title, but the story itself had nothing to do with candy.  That's not to say that these aren't fine movies, they just mislead a little bit in the title, particularly for those of us that really like candy themed movies.

Gumball Rally

This is not so much a movie about gumballs as it is a movie about racing cars. If you're familiar with the Cannon Ball Run series than you pretty much know what this movie is all about.


Candyman

This is a movie about a serial killer that come to life when you say his name 5 times.  I'm not sure why they named him "Candyman", but I'm sure it's not because of his love of gummy bears.


Better Than Chocolate

This movie title plays on the theme of chocolate VS sex, which one is better.  It looks like a fun movie about a lesbian girl dealing with telling her parents about her lifestyle.

As I'm sure you know, I'm a Lego fanatic.  I love building with the stuff, and checking out what other people have built.  This in particularly interested me, because I've discovered that my Lego Minifigs don't really have any place to purchase candy.

For those that missed the article about Candy Critic in the Charlatan a few weeks ago, you also missed some awesome pictures taken by Christopher King.
