A Scary Skull Candy Thing
at
9:00 AM
The great thing about silicon molds is the amazing diversity of things you can make with them. These skull shaped ice molds will make your next drink party pretty awesome, but they'll also make your next batch of cake pops fantastic, and if you're into making your own chocolates you'll have some awesome results. I think the idea of making a cake pop that's filled with a blood read cherry cream or syrup would be the perfect addition to any macabre party.

Halloween Candy Links - Part 2
at
1:30 PM
The folks at Tierra Dulce Shop are making these excellent sugar skulls that would be great for this Halloween season. On a very strange note, these sugar skulls are completely vegan as well. They come in a bunch of flavours and colours, so they'd be great as edible decorations for a party.
Click here to buy some of these yummy looking skulls.

Wednesday's Candy Links
at
9:00 AM
Did we really have this many berry varieties when I was kid, it was only yesterday that I discovered "lingonberries" were real, and now "Crowberries"?
I found this great "History of Chocolate" (from the Cadbury perspective) on the Cadbury UK website. It's well worth checking out.
It turns out our friends at "Chocolate Skulls" are famous, and the chocolate skulls seem to be finding their way into the Hollywood elite.
The folks at Tel Aviv University have discovered that eating a sugar filled breakfast might actually be more healthy... I love Tel Aviv University!

Candy Art - Ana Is Inspired To Make Some Good Looking Candy
at
12:00 PM
Recently I got an e-mail from Ana, she's an at home, candy artist making some really great looking treats.
She was inspired by the idea of making Day of the Dead skulls that you could eat, since often the sugar skulls are more about decoration than eating. With the help of her sister she quickly came up with several designs of tasty looking skulls.
She obviously has a knack for it, and this portrait made of chocolate is proof of that. I don't know if I'd want to eat this or hang it up in my dinning room instead.
Truly this is where are and candy meet.
Click here to check out Ana's blog and click here to buy some of her stuff on Etsy.

Cool Looking, Homemade, Halloween Candy Treat Idea - Part 1
at
4:25 PM
Every day this week I'm going to feature a really cool do it yourself Halloween candy project. The cool thing about each of these projects is that they look fantastic. Even cooler, the people who made these tell you how you can make them yourself as well. So if you're up to making some great looking Halloween treats this year you might want to give these a try.
These skulls are absolutely awesome. They're a little complicated to make, but if you've got the chocolate making patience you might want to give them a try.Click here to learn how to make these.

Crystal Skull Candy
at
6:28 PM
Boing Boing posted a great photo of a hand made crystal skull candy that one can order from the internet. I'm tempted to order one just so I can take a picture of myself licking a skull, that would be so bad ass.

Another Treat For Halloween
at
6:36 PM
Earlier today I posted a link to a recipe for squishy jelly eyeballs. Well I just came across this other recipe to make those fun sugar skulls from Mexico. I know it's not really Halloween but these skulls just look so cool.

3D Skull Cake Pans
at
3:40 PM
I'm always happy when home cooking and my love of death metal music can come together into one sweet little snack. Not Martha has a demonstration using a cake pan that's shaped like a skull sure to entertain friends and family, particularly if one of your family members is Alice Cooper.

Crystal Jellybean Skulls
at
9:34 AM
Boing Boing is selling some great looking crystal jellybean skulls in the Boing Boing Bazaar. I'm not sure what one does with a "crystal jellybean skull" maybe a fancy and tasty biker ornament, or a gift for the undertaker with a sweet tooth.
