Check This Out On The Molecular Level

Every time I see someone cooking molecular gastronomy style I say to myself, I should try that out some time, it looks like fun. Then I read about it and it's just too complicated.

Candy In The Media - Making Your Own Candy Only Better

I really love Bon Appetit's series of videos with Claire Saffitz where she attempts to make gormet versions of popular treats. These are treats that we eat all the time, but she wants to give them a gourmet twist.

Click here to check out her attempt at Kit Kat bars and Lucky Charms.

I Love It When Chefs Love Candy

I particularly love it when chefs take a traditional candy and make it into a fancy treat.  It's great because it not only brings attention to the treat (in the case of this article cotton candy) but it also shows how one can improve a treat to a very high degree.

Chocolate Maker Sounds Cool

Once you're described as a "Shock-o-latier" you have my attention.  I love chocolate artists that push the limit and create great works, I love it even more if the quality of their chocolate is very high.  From what I've read in the article below Dominique Persoone is just that kind of man.

Do Chefs Inspire Candy, Or Does Candy Inspire Chefs?

According to the article below, candy inspires chefs.  There's a suggestion in the article that there are many baked goods in this world that wouldn't exist if it wasn't for certain candy bars and treats.  I'm convinced cakes and pastries, are in a fun creative dance with the candy world.  They bounce ideas off of each other, creating the fun world where I like to say I live.

I Love This Movie

The only thing better than the average Swedish Chef segment on the Muppet Show is when he sings my favorite song about salty snacks.

This guy pretty much sums up everything good about sweet food fanatics. He looks like he'd be a great guy to hang out with for a day and learn about how sweet treats are made.

The White House Pastry Chef is Not Making Many Sweets Right Now

Apparently because of Michelle Obama's new healthy eating campaign the White House has cut down the types of sweet treats being offered. The Pastry Chef has changed some of his roles and is really happy with the new set up. I'm glad that he's managed to adapt but I would also like to extend an offer to him. If he ever gets a hankering to make some crazy fun sweet treats he's more than welcome to send them my way as I'm always happy to except anything that he might make.
