Today's Review is Full Of... - Kopi Luwak Chocolate "Dark 55%"

There are several reasons that I buy a candy to review. One of the reasons that I'm most ashamed about buying candies for review is gimmicks. I feel even worse about this when that particular candy is expensive. This Kopi Luwak chocolate bar is exactly that. This bar is made from ingredients that have previously been digested by a civet cat. This bar contains another animals poop. I bought it in Indonesia, so the price wasn't insanely high, but it still wasn't cheap either.

I won't give away how this bar tasted, but I will tell you that I bought it for the gimmick, and wasn't expecting greatness.

Candy News

Tiny art painted on snack food makes me appreciate the fine art, and it also makes me hungry.

Stupid or genius, covering yourself in a Mentos and jumping into a pool of Coca-Cola, you decide.

Indonesia is the third largest producer of cocoa, and finally they're starting to eat the stuff.

Some people make beautiful art out of food, others make beautiful art that look like food.

Someone invented a machine to automatically feed you Doritos, and it goes horribly wrong.

According to a new study, there's a connection between eating candy and stress.

The Cherpumple sounds like a really lame cartoon character villain, but it's actually one of the best dessert ideas ever.

Tuesday's Candy Links

Now that the new year is approaching lists of food trends from last year and upcoming predictions are starting to rear their ugly heads.

An interview with chocolatier Brad Graham with an explanation into the science of how chocolate is made, it's very interesting.

Indonesia is apparently  a growing economy, and because of this their want for higher quality chocolate has grown.  I wonder if this is always the case?

Chocolate Crops Saved By Ugly Toads

Apparently in Indonesia there is a problem with a parasite known as the "yellow crazy ant" (you can't make names like that up) that is non-native and killing off other ants that are good for cocoa plants. So a research team has discovered that a certain breed of local toad, that loves eating these ants, is the best answer to making sure cocoa crops stay healthy. Nature is just so strange and wonderful all at the same time.
