In this episode of Chris's Monthly Morning Breakfast Thoughts, I drink a really weird blue drink. I also talk about the candy and junk food news from the last month, as well as the new updates on candycritic.org.

It's Time For A Look At This And Last Month In Candy, Also A Review - Toffifee

To start off this week we're posting a review of a candy that likely could have been our Christmas review, but I feel it fits better being a post Christmas review, Toffifee. If you ask Allison it's the one treat that I always love to eat around Christmas time. She's nice enough to make sure we have a box every year as well. It's strange that I haven't written a review up until now, but better late than never.

You can click here to check out this new review.

We're also re-starting our video series, Chris's Monday Morning Breakfast Thoughts as a monthly show. We've decided that  it works much better as a monthly show and we'll be posting it on the first Monday of every month.  You can always find the new episode posted here on this blog, but you can subscribe to our YouTube channel to get the videos as soon as we finish them.

Also make sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to keep up with all our daily shenanigans.

December Is A Busy Month For Candy Critic Starting With A Unique Japanese Candy Review - Kotabe “Chestnut”

This month is going to be super busy at Candy Critic and it all starts with this new review. This new review (Kotaby Chestnut) is the first of many reviews this week as we're kicking off a jam packed Japanese candy review-a-thon. The only Japanese candy we won't touch this week is Kit Kat bars, that's because next week we're doing a special Japanese Kit Kat review-a-thon.

Click here to check out the first in this week's Japanese treats.

Make sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to keep up with the entire review-a-thon.

We're not only going to be posting cool Japanese candy reviews this month, we have a whole bunch of other stuff lined up this month as well. Rather than write about it, we decided to talk about on this week's episode of Chris's Monday Morning Breakfast Thoughts.

If you're on the YouTube, make sure to subscribe to our channel to get all the latest videos.

We Are Back From Japan And We're Eating Bugs - Zircca

First things first, this week's new  review is not from Japan,we're still organizing all of our haul and photographing it. This review is from our last episode of Chris, Why Would You Eat That?!! where I ate a bug filled candy bar. It was not a great bar, and strangely it had nothing to do with the bugs.

Click here to read about the review that didn't "bug" me at all.

The best way I thought to look at our triumphant return from Japan was with a video, and since it's Tuesday and we're always late, why not make it an episode of Chris's Monday (Tuesday) Morning Breakfast Thoughts.

Make sure to check out our posts from Japan on Twitter and Facebook.

You can also follow us on Instagram, because I'm told it's hip.

It's A Spooky New Review (well, not really) and a Frightful New Episode Of Monday Morning Breakfast Thoughts (not really either) - M&M's "White Pumpkin Pie"

I think the only thing about this review that might be even slightly scary is the fact that it's yet another pumpkin spice/pumpkin pie themed treat. Of all the food trends that I know of this one confuses me a lot. In fact the only trend that confuses me more is the crazy flavours of Starbucks frappuccinos.

Click here to read the review and find out why I'm confused about pumpkin spice stuff.

This week's episode of Chris's Monday Morning Breakfast Thoughts is also not really scary, although I do attempt to make a Halloween/creepy breakfast treat, and I''m wearing a costume. So it's kind of creepy and Halloween themed.

We're On The Road, And We Still Have A New Review - Cool Air

I decided that this would make the perfect new review to symbolize the fact that all of you in the north are starting to get a little chilly. When I was a kid I used to believe that it was a good idea to chew a cool gum in order to keep warm. It's a silly idea, but mentally it got me through a few cold winter nights ice skating with my friends (holy cow was that ever a Canadian thing  to say).

Click here to find out what we thought of this chilly gum.

Hey everybody, we're on the road... although if you read the title of this blog  you'd know that already. We're in Cambodia road tripping it around Battambang and Siem Reap. It seems that I'm not able to embed videos using my tablet, so that means if you want to see our latest episode of Chris's Monday Morning BreakfastThoughts, you'll have to click here.

If you want to see more of our trip, make sure to follow us on Twitter and Facebook as we'll be posting pictures of any cool snacks and food we find.

And remember to follow us on YouTube for videos that we might not post here.

Can't We Just Pretend It's Monday? (New Review And Breakfast Thought) - Sugus "Blackcurrant"

I've been under the weather for a couple of days, and yesterday just seemed like the worst time to post a breakfast thought and a new review. For our new review it's a strange one. The candy itself is pretty basic, but the fact that I recommend only eating one is a little strange. It's not that I didn't like this candy at all, it just gets worse the more you eat.

Click here to find out why this candy doesn't cut it after the second bite.

On this week's breakfast thought we talk about all kinds of fun stuff, we even show you some behind the scenes fun when we photography candy for candycritic.org reviews.

It’s An Episode Of Chris’s Monday Morning Breakfast Thoughts From Singapore!

There’s no new review today, however we have a special episode of Monday Morning Breakfast Thoughts shot live from Singapore. In this episode Chris (and Allison) talk about their travels, and also about some future episodes of Chris, Why Would You Eat That?!! that they’re working on. It’s the first time we’ve recorded an episode from abroad, but not the last as we have lots more travel coming up.

To keep up with all our fun trip news, make sure to follow us on Twitter and Facebook.

It's Monday Morning, So It's Time For Some Thoughts, And A Review - Nude Chocolate

Long and tube like, is not the way you want to describe something that's called "Nude Chocolate", but it's just the way it is. This week's review was purchased because of the bold letters on the package and what they spelled out.

Click here to find out if this "sexy" treat lives up to the hype.

On this week's Monday Morning Breakfast thoughts we look at statistics. Many of you out there are probably not interested in math, but candy math is pretty fun. After compiling all of the reviews into a database, I have some interesting stats about the kind of treats we have on the site.

We've Finally Posted Our Monrning Thoughts

This episode of Chris's Monday Morning Breakfast Thoughts is late, a whole day late. It was one of those things that just proved to be more challenging than we expected. But it's a great episode and we promise we'll try harder next time.

Also make sure to keep up with our gummy review-a-thon this week. Our latest post is one of the great mergers in the candy world, unfortunately it didn't really work out.

To keep up with all the reasons things fall behind, make sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter.

We're Starting Our Gummy Review-A-Thon On Time, But Our Monday Morning Breakfast Thought Will Be Late

We've decided this week would be the perfect week to have a review-a-thon, and one of our favourite review-a-thons to do is gummy review-a-thons. There are just so many gummies to choose from so it makes review-a-thons so great. We've decided to start with a gummy that has the potential to be really strange, but likely isn't.

Click here to read about this potentially strange candy review.

Due to technical issues that we don't really want to explain (you can ask and we'll tell, but it will depress us), this week's Monday Morning Breakfast Thought will have to be a Tuesday Morning Breakfast Thought instead. We were thinking of canceling it, but frankly we have a breakfast treat we're really excited about trying. Make sure to check back tomorrow for the new episode (or follow us on YouTube to get a notice when it's posted).

Also make sure to follow us on Twitter and/or Facebook to keep up with our day to day candy shenanigans.

It's Time For Another Monday Morning Breakfast Thought, And A New Candy Review - Puccho Juicy "Assorted Fruit Flavors"

Today's new candy review should be celebrating fruit, but there's a problem. It celebrates fruit in general, and not any particular fruit. This is a bit of a peeve I've recently discovered, fruit flavours that don't really have any kind of specificity to them. It's not that I don't like fruit flavours that don't taste like the  fruit it's supposed to represent either, I love fake raspberry and cherry, the problem I have is when they don't commit at all.

Click here to find out how this week's new candy review rubbed me the wrong way.

This week on Chris's Monday Morning Breakfast Thoughts, I feel like we have to change it to Chris's Monday Morning Dealing With A Bad Meal From The Weekend Thoughts. Unfortunately I didn't get to have the breakfast I was hoping this morning, so instead I had to find something to sooth my sore tummy.

It's A New Epsidoe Of Chris's Monday Morning Breakfast Thoughts, Published On A Tuesday

We didn't post a new episode yesterday because of the holiday, but that doesn't mean we're just  going to skip it. We even gave it a new title. This week Chris talks about food and politics and pumpkin spice stuff.

It's The Latest Breakfast Thoughts, And A Slightly Disapointing Review - QBZ "Warheads"

Every so often I write a review and I get into a weird head space, this is a prime example of that. I'm not saying that this review is not legitimate, or at least as legitimate as a candy review can be. I'm just saying that I approached this review from a different angle, and it may or may not affect the outcome of my opinion.

Click here to find out why this review is a little weird.

We have another episode of Chris's Monday Morning Breakfast Thoughts, a show that I really have to come up with a name that's easier to say. On average it takes me 3 tries to get the introduction right because I keep messing up the name of the show. Please, if you have a better name, let me know.

It's Time To Eat Pancakes And Post A New Review! - Tim Tam Fingers

This week's new review got me in a bit of a mood. Recently someone complained that some of the treats posted on Candy Critic weren't technically candy. I decided that in retaliation, I would post something that's in a very grey area of this debate, and complain about people telling me that some of the things I review aren't candy.

Find out what I thought of these Tim Tam Fingers, and what I think about people's complaint that some of my reviews aren't technically candy, here.

When I thought up the idea of the Monday Morning Breakfast Thoughts, I thought that I would just eat a bowl of cereal and talk about whatever crossed my mind at the time. We're up to the third episode and I've only eaten cereal once. I like the idea of variety for breakfast, I just don't know if I can keep it up.

We Got S'more Candy To Review And A New Show

We'll start today off with our new review. It's for a packaged s'mores treat, and I spend most of the review wondering if it's at all possible to make a treat that actually matches the pure joy of real s'mores. It's a tough thing to re-create, but candy companies keep trying.

Click here to read how this candy stacks up to real s'mores.

Also this week we're premiering our new YouTube show called Chris's Monday Morning Breakfast Thoughts. A show were we take a look at what's happening this week on candycritic.org and within the candy world in general. Let us know what you think of the new show, and we also welcome suggestions for what we should eat for breakfast.

It's A New Candy Review with a Bonus Announcement - Pocky "Grape Squeeze"

I'll start off with the new review, it's Pocky. It's actually my 13th Pocky review, which I think is pretty good. It's also not going to be my last Pocky review (I hope). As far as Pocky goes, this one was OK. It certainly wasn't the best Pocky I've ever tried, but it wasn't the worst either. It also wasn't an average Pocky either.

Click here to read our latest Pocky review.

As a bonus, this week we're previewing the opening for an upcoming video project we're working on. It'll be a weekly video show called "Chris's Monday Morning Breakfast Thoughts". In this show I'll give you guys the rundown of what we're going to be posting in the upcoming week, and maybe cover any interesting news stories that have been going around lately.  We're hoping to post it every Monday on our YouTube channel (but we'll probably post it here too).
