When you can't think of any St Patrick's Day treats, you try and figure the next best thing.

It's Time For A New Episode Of Chris, Why Would You Eat That?!! featuring Merinda Green Creme Flavour.

This episode of Chris, Why Would You Eat That?!! has inspired me to change the way things are done in this web show. The problem I  have is that I can't sample the foods to find out if they're really gross or not. I can't check that it's going to make for good TV. So sometimes it leads to me eating something that tastes kind of meh. It's not surprisingly good, or grotesque. This makes for a slightly dull episode  of Chris, Why Would You Eat That?!! So next month, after the new episode "drops" you'll  have a chance to help me pick what I'm going to try next. I'll offer two or three suggested items, and you can pick. I might take a vote, or just take the first suggestion that comes up.  We'll see how that works out for future episodes.

To find old episode of Chris, Why Would You Eat That?!! where I do eat gross things, click here.

Likely the way I'll have people vote on the next treat will be on Facebook and/or Twitter.

Also, make sure to follow us on YouTube to see all of our video  content first.

A Leprechaun Candy Thing

Did you eat anything Irish for St Patrick's Day?  Did you drink some whiskey, or have a beer?  Maybe you had some Irish stew.  What is the flavour of St Patrick's Day?  If you were to make a candy, to fill this "Pot O Gold Cauldron", what would you put in it?  Personally I'd go for mint green jelly beans, but only because they're my favorite flavour of jelly beans, and the green colour kind of works.  Do you think that it's about time for someone to come up with the official candy of St Patrick's Day?  Then kids could buy up Pot O Gold Cauldrons and fill them to the brim.

Pixelated Gummy Bear Shirts All Week - Part Green

All this week I've been posting the different variations of pixelated gummy bear shirts that I designed.  The one colour I avoided was white.  I'm not sure how well that would work on a t-shirt, particularly a white one.  I may get creative with it later, but for now I think I'll just stick with the bright colours.

Click here to check out all of the shirts we have available.

Wednesday Japanese Candy Review!

Most people in western countries don't associate the colour green with tasty food.  It's often connected to vegetables, mold, or slime.  In Japan however green is often associated with tea, in particular matcha tea.  So when you see a tube of green cookies, it's not a gimmick to try and gross kids out.  Instead it's a flavour choice, and in the case of today's review, a good one.

Once again I'd like to thank the folks at oyatsucafe.com for providing us with this weeks matchatastic treat. Remember to enter the word "candycritic" when you order something from them to get a great discount.

It's National Jelly Bean Day!!!

It's also Earth Day as well, so I'm torn.  Do I love the planet earth, or green jelly beans?  I guess I could like both at the same time, and in particular I'd love to have a green jelly bean that was the size of the earth.  So I guess I suggest taking a bag of jelly beans to your local wooded area, sit back, and enjoy watching the natural world go by.  But remember not to throw the empty jelly bean bag on the ground.

Classic/Creative Candy Advertising - Green Is Good

In my continuing search for St Patrick's themed candy, I decided to look up St Patrick's candy advertisements up on Vintage Ad Browser.  I came up with nothing.  so I decided to look up "Green Candy" and this is what I got.  Well, it's a start.

You guessed it, I found this ad on Vintage Ad Browser.

Candy Art - Jello Grenade

I love Kyle Beans interpretation of everyday thing made up of non-threatening materials.  I particular like this Jello grenade and wish it would go off.

It's National Jelly Bean Day

I'm not sure why beans and candy merged to make such a great treat, but they did, and that's all that matters.

Going Green

I just read two articles talking about how candy makers are able to improve the environment while still making great tasting treats.  The first is an article about Kraft's new plan to make "Dad's Oatmeal Cookies" green in their production.  The second is on a company that figures it's even nicer for Valentines Day to give someone a treat that is good for the earth and all of the people on it.

Gummy Bear at The Square

It appears that every year just before and just after Christmas the main square here in Athens is filled to the brim with people dressed up as characters, selling balloons, and dressed up as Santa (it's a little strange after Christmas).  I spotted one person dressed up as that cute little green gummy bear, then I spotted another person dressed as that gummy bear, then another, then another... Well you get the point.  In fact I spotted more people dressed as this little gummy bear than I did people dressed as Santa.

What Kind Of Husband Am I?!!

As it turns out today is "Eat a red apple day", and what did I do.  Today I send Allison to work with a green apple.  I'm such a horrible, horrible man.

Good Green Idea

I love seeing candy companies not only produce good high quality treats but also think about the environment a little bit as well. Marks and Spencer has decided to sell their candies in special compostable containers that keep the candy safe and the world safe too.

I'm Applying For a Job At Green And Black

You can apply as well, however I must say that I have a lot of experience when it comes to sampling chocolate, and I already live abroad and I'm used to traveling. I'm not saying you won't get the job, I'm just saying you won't get it without a fight.

Just Got A Whole Bunch-0-Chocolate In The Mail

And I can't wait to munch on each and every bar. A few flavours in particular interest me like the Maya Gold and the Ginger.

Pop Shop Lime Ricky

I'm not sure where Pop Shop brand pop came from originally but it was pretty much a staple of my childhood. Back in the old days you could go to special Pop Shop stores and drive right in for your case off pop.
Lime Ricky is my favorite flavour, and although it's not around as much, you can still find it here and there. No more Pop Shop stores anymore so you have to search it out.

Girls Rule!

In the M&Ms world it appears that girls rule and the green M&M is the most popular. It could be because our society has finally found equality and is able to affirm a leading role on a female. Or it could be that the Green M&M is just so sexy.

My Nutella Might Be Green

The folks at Ferrero are looking to improve the environmental impact of producing yummy chocolaty stuff. Making people happy with chocolate and doing it while making the world greener, why I believe that's worth a Nobel Prize.

It's Election Day In M&M World

I've always believed that elections where nothing more than popularity contest and the favorite colour M&M election furthers my argument. I'm not saying it's not important to vote, just make sure you look at the issues and not just the personalities... So what are the issues?
